Reviving the Mix Tapes and a Playlist of Labor and Delivery

When was the last time you made a mix tape? It’s time to bring that back! I recently stumbled upon this USB Mix Tape by mymodernmixtape.com and was immediately flooded with memories of road trips, camping outings, team bonding retreats and songs from summer breaks over the years. Now you can relive the day of the mix tape and send your loved ones playlists wrapped as a nostalgic cassette tape.
Mix Tapes were such a personal and unique way to express your feelings and capture a moment in time. Create a soundtrack for your wedding and use it as a gift to your bridesmaids or groomsmen. Are you throwing a baby shower? A few years ago, I sent a care package to a friend who was expecting, with a CD full of funny song titles to help motivate her during labor and delivery. Too bad I didn’t have this USB Mix Tape then. It would have made a super cute addition to the gift.

Dinner and a Movie: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Last week my kids and I started “Dinner and a Movie” Nights. We work together to plan a dinner around a movie theme. The kids and I create a menu and put together a grocery list. On movie night, we spend the evening preparing the meal together and watch the movie while enjoying the results of our efforts. I’m hoping this will translate into a fun way to introduce new foods and recipes to the family. When the kids help with the preparation they become much more enthusiastic about eating. We also get the added bonus of quality family time.
Our first attempt was “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” with a dinner of, you guessed it…..Spaghetti and Meatballs. (baby steps people…baby steps) We searched for a stuffed meatball recipe and made garlic bread. The kids cleaned their plates while watching the movie and are excited to plan our next movie night. My daughter wants to try Gumbo and Beignets for a  “The Princess and the Frog” dinner. She’s ready to dive right in! I thought this would be more of an adventure for the kids but from the sounds of it my husband and I will be trying a few new items too. (fingers crossed we won’t have to order emergency pizzas on too many attempts)

We've started a Pinterest board to collect all of the recipe inspiration and movie themes. Click HERE for more Dinner and a Movie fun.

Unique Bachelorette and Girls Night Out Ideas and Outings

Orders for Bachelorette Party Favors are on the rise and with Wedding Season in full swing we have collected fun options and ideas for celebrating a unique Girls’Night. Heck, who needs a Bachelorette Party? Just call up your friends and have a blast trying something unexpected. Check out our Pinterest Board for more fun ideas too.

Tami Scott of Tami Scott Studio has combined her salon with Bin 11 wine bar. You can host a gathering, enjoy some lovely wine and have a makeover all in one place. Sounds pretty cool to us!

I've had this idea of hosting a bachelorette party with all of the guests dressed as Beauty Pageant Contestants. Assign everyone a sash that reads some sort of fun name like Miss Behave and Miss Understood. The Bride-to-Be could be Miss Taken and of course she’ll need a crown. It would be interesting to see if folks show up in a swimsuit or dressed with props for their talent.

Are you adventurous? Aiming high for your night out? We suggest Zipline tours,Trapeze Classes or Paintball!

Megan of the Wades of 108 Blog hosted a Pub Golf Bachelorette Party. It’s a great idea for the host that likes to be organized/OCD. Organized Chaos….Anita would approveJ Megan even writes a follow up with planning details due to the popularity of the idea.

Painting With A Twist does all the work for you! Your group can have a private room, paint with an instructor and bring your own refreshments. The gang at PWT will handle all the clean up.
