SUPERMAN CELEBRATION
My son is a HUGE super hero fan and he's always asking to go "Downtown" to see the superheroes. This weekend was the Superman Celebration in Metropolis, IL so we used this as a Friday Flip warm up by jumping in the car and taking a road trip "Downtown" to hang out with Superman.Metropolis hosts the Superman Celebration every year but it is "SUPER" all year round. It's the official home of Superman where a 15ft bronze statue of the Man of Steel is front and center in the town square and across the street from the Super Museum. During the celebration, Metropolis hosts a variety of events for fellow fans to enjoy like the Strong Man Weight Lifting Competition, Film Festival, "Super" Celebrities from TV and Movies, Costume Contests and so much more!
We were surrounded by people in super hero costumes at every turn. My son was able to shake hands and take photos with all of his favorites. He was wide eyed and amazed the entire day. A great day of firsts for us all!
